Muriel Lienau is the New President of EFBW
Nestlé Waters’ CEO Muriel Lienau will head EFBW, the European Bottled Water Federation, for the next two years. She follows former President Jean-Pierre Deffis.
The European Bottled Water Federation (EFBW) has elected Muriel Lienau, CEO of Nestlé Waters in Europe, Middle East and North Africa (Emena), new President for the next two years.
Lienau, in the multinational for 29 years, is head of both Nestlé Waters Business in Emena and the Global Strategic Business Unit of Nestlé Waters. The professional has worked in France, Germany and Switzerland, promoting the quality of mineral waters and natural springs. She has also worked for the protection of river basins throughout Europe.
The appointment came after the end of the mandate of Jean-Pierre Deffis, who was at the helm of EFBW from 2014. Mr. Deffis played a pivotal role in introducing a strong roadmap focusing on retaining the quality of natural mineral waters and playing a leadership role in the field of sustainability and circular economy.
“Our category wants to be a leading force to achieve a circular economy and sustainable food systems; we want to be the inspiration for others”, Lienau said.
