Sant Ambroeus USA goes to the English Thcp fund for 35 million dollars
Behind this operation there is Italy. Mauro Moretti, former manager of BC Partners, is the head of the Thcp fund, specialized in innovative finance with Flexible Capital Solutions.
Thcp has acquired Sant Ambroeus Hospitality Group, a company born as a foreign subsidiary of the Milanese pastry shop Sant Ambroeus, for 35 million dollars. Currently, the American business has five restaurants and three coffee bars and pastry shops.
Specialized in innovative finance, the fund has already invested in the UK in food service, securing the franchise chain Byron Burger.
Debut in the United States
Thcp is now relying on the United States to revive the activities of the American leg of the renowned milanese pastry. According to Il Sole 24 Ore, the prospect is to import one of its premises to London.
The start of business in the United States dates back to 2003, with the opening of the first store in Madison Avenue by Gherardo Guarducci and Dimitri Pauli.
